No Holding Back

Climbing wall in a swimming pool. Best idea ever? I think so.

Today, I went to the gym with my friend, Austin. We did "The Spartacus" workout, a TRX band workout, and then went to the pool with the intention of swimming. That is, until we saw the climbing wall. The wall stands about 10 feet above the surface of the pool and has three different panels you can choose from to climb. We were able to conquer two of the panels, but one just seemed to be too much for us. The most embarrassing thing was that the lifeguards informed us that a seven year old is able to climb the "impossipanel" every single time he goes to the pool. We kept trying and trying, but were still unable to make it to the top of that third panel. No amount of yelling at each-other (positively or making fun of one-another) was able to push us to the top. We were extremely determined, but weren't willing to commit to the task fully. In all honesty, had we stayed a little longer and pushed a little harder, we probably could have gotten it. But we didn't do that. We held back - even though it was just a slight hold back - and because of that, we were unable to make it to the top.

Today is a day where we honor those who don't hold anything back for our country. Our veterans are people willing to give up everything - including their own lives - for our freedom and to protect all of our rights. There are so few people who are willing to make this sacrifice, and it is important that we let them know how much they mean to us. Thank you for holding nothing back. Thank you for giving up what so few are willing to give up. Thank you for sacrificing time with your friends, family, and other loved ones. Thank you for being willing to give up your life for all of those of us back home and thank you to all the ones who have made this ultimate sacrifice.

Thank you for not holding back. You are an inspiration and a blessing.
